Susan Ann Smith

Susan Ann Smith, 66, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 3, 2026, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.

Susan was born September 20, 1959, in Fremont, California, to George Try and Dorothy Cornelson Try. She grew up and attended schools in Fremont and graduated from JFK High School.

On April 20, 1980, she married David Smith in South Lake Tahoe. Susan and David were blessed with two children, Kymbyrley and James. They made their home in South Lake Tahoe where Susan owned and operated A-La-Carte Catering. Susan and David were later divorced.

She enjoyed playing softball in high school and holds records for triple AAA ball in Fremont. When her children were young, she enjoyed spending family quality time on the beaches of South Lake Tahoe. Later on in life, she was completely dedicated to her five grandchildren and was content with her life accomplishments.

Susan is survived by her son, James Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kymbyrley Smith of Klammath Falls, OR; brother, Jerry (Diane) Try of Spokane, WA; brother, Edward (Colleen) Try of Spokane, WA; sister, Nancy (Stan) Smocynski of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Gloria (Rob) Smith of Durham, NC; and 5 grandchildren, Cameron, David, Hunter, Henley, and Jude.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her ex-husband, David.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
