Susan Charlotte (Danklefsen) Shirley

Susan Charlotte Shirley, 69, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 17, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Susan was born July 9, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, to George Josef Danklefsen and Charlotte Rader Danklefsen. She grew up and attended schools in Chicago.

On April 21, 1979, she married Kent James Shirley in the Idaho Falls Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Susan and Kent made their home in Idaho Falls. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed movies, music, cooking, and spending time with family.

Susan is survived by her husband, Kent James Shirley, Sr. of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kristy Mathews of Boise, ID; son, Kent (Jenny) Shirley, Jr. of Ammon, ID; son, Jason (Meghan) Shirley of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jenna (Cody Bailey) Shirley of Boise, ID; brother, George (Renae) Danklefsen of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Karen Youngstrom of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Robert Danklefsen of Idaho Falls, ID; and 8 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Charlotte Danklefsen, and her sister, Renate Southwick.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 31, 2024, at the Iona Cemetery (4962 1st St, Idaho Falls). A luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the LDS Stake Center located at 5366 1st Street, Idaho Falls.
