SADAO "SUD" MORISHITA
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Sadao “Sud” Morishita, 81, of Idaho Falls, died February 6, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of complications following surgery.
He was born September 18, 1920, at Shelley, to Tsurukichi Morishita and Tsune Morita Morishita. He grew up in the Idaho Falls area and attended schools in Iona, Osgood, and Ammon. He lived and worked in the Idaho Falls area all his life.
He married Ruth Kimi Imaizumi April 30, 1944, at Idaho Falls. He farmed for 34 years and worked for 15 years as Bonneville County Weed Control Superintendent. He retired in 1988.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a charter member of the Idaho Falls JACL and a life member of the JACL 1000 Club. He served two terms as President of the Idaho Falls chapter.
He was appointed by Governor Cecil Andrus to the Soil Conservation Commission and was a member of the Idaho Weed Control Association. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, and story telling. He was named to the Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame in 1994 and received the Doyle L. Scott Annual Conservation Award in 1988.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2002, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 237 North Water Avenue, with Reverend Thom Larsen officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.
