Steven Blaine McCord, 63, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 31, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of heart failure.
Blaine was born March 6, 1951, in Gooding, Idaho, to Calvin Wayne McCord and Francis Bell McCord. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. He spent most of his life in the Idaho Falls area.
After high school he entered the military and served 21 years in the U. S. Marine Corps, Army, and National Guard.
On September 14, 1979, he married the love of his life, Helen Colleen Rose, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Blaine worked as a road construction flag man for Idaho Traffic & Safety. He later worked as a custodian for Development Workshop.
Blaine enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and going to coffee with his friends. He was an outdoorsman and loved going to and participating in rodeos in his younger years.
Blaine is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Helen McCord of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Rose Overbo of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Terry (Victoria) Shenton of Twin Falls, ID, daughter, Susann (Douglas) Cole of San Bernardino, CA, son, Robert (Miachelle) McCord of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Shanna (Joshua) Williams of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Helen (Brandon) Davis of Fillmore, UT, daughter, Stephanie (Clarence) Murphy of Chicago, IL, brother, Lee McCord of Idaho Falls, ID, brother, Dan (Vicki) McCord of Idaho Falls, ID, brother, Jay (Marie) McCord of Hutchinson, KS; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jason Shelton, and five grandkids.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, 4600 South Yellowstone. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
