Click Here To View Memorial Video Steven Lynn Johnson, 50, of Idaho Falls, passed away on January 27, 2014, in Shelley, Idaho. He was born January 20, 1964, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Grover Vaughn Johnson and Sandra Lee Foster Johnson. He was raised in Omaha, Nebraska where he attended schools and graduated from Burke High School. He continued his education at Brigham Young University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree and then Colorado State University where he received his Master’s Degree in Business Finance. On December 15, 1986, he married Kim Marie Jolley in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were married until 2010. He worked in the fuel distribution industry and was the owner of DBS Inc. Steve was active in the Kiwanis Club where he served as President and also was Grid Kid director where he was a well-loved coach for many years. He coached baseball and served as a Scoutmaster in the Boy Scout Program where he touched the lives of many young men. Steve was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a youth he served as a missionary to the Arizona Holbrook Mission and learned the Navajo language. While on his mission he gained a love for the Southwest Red Rocks, where he spent the last week of his life enjoying their beauty with his sweetheart, Betsy Monson. Steve was very generous with his time and money and performed countless acts of random kindness. Steve enjoyed golf, watching Nebraska football, Utah Jazz, and going to games with his boys. He also enjoyed running and completed the St. George Marathon. Survivors are: Fiancee: Betsy Monson of Idaho Falls, Idaho Son: Daniel Steven (Chelsea) Johnson, Des Moines, Iowa Son: Jared Scott (Kylee) Johnson, Idaho Falls, Idaho Son: Devin Joel Johnson, Idaho Falls, Idaho Parents: Vaughn and Sandra Johnson, American Fork, Utah Brother: Michael (Sheri) Johnson, Lehi, Utah Brother: Scott (Lori) Johnson, Peoria, Illinois Sister: DeAnn Johnson, Brewster, Massachusetts 1 Grandson: Jameson Daniel Johnson Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, January 31, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS South Stake Center (2051 S. Emerson) with Bishop Bob Meek, of the Summerfield Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Friday from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
