Steven Grant Earl, 79, of Ammon, passed away January 28, 2026, at his home.
Steve was born August 20, 1946, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Doyle Grant Earl and Lola Rosalie Browning Earl. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also attended BYU and Idaho State University. Steve served a church mission in England.
On August 1, 1968, he married Carol Ann Ferguson in the Idaho Falls Temple. Steve and Carol made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where Steve worked as a radio frequency engineer as owner and operator of Earl’s Wireless Communications.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was involved in the Boy Scouts of America organization for 65 years. He served as a Stake Missionary and as Emergency Communications Director, a missionary calling, operating a HAM radio. He was a founding member of Idaho Wings Racing Pigeon Club.
Steve is survived by his wife, Carol Earl of Ammon, ID; son, David (Yennie) Earl of Sydney, Australia; daughter, Trina (Shad) Rydalch of Rigby, ID; daughter, Faye (Rhett) Hayes of Ucon, ID; son, James Earl of Ammon, ID; daughter, Jessica (Vixxi) Earl of Bellingham, WA; brother, Scott (April) Earl of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Martha (Chuck) Temus of Puyallup, WA; sister, Patti (Paul) Branch of Layton, UT; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Earl.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Idaho Falls Bridgewater Ward, 3700 East Lincoln Road, with Bishop Joshua Stringham officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., both visitations at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Grand Teton Council, Boy Scouts of America.
