Steve Walker

Kim Steve Walker (Steve), 52, of Swan Valley, Idaho, passed away on July 12, 2024, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

Steve was born on April 4, 1972, to Kim and Priscilla Walker in Idaho Falls, Idaho. After graduating from Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls, he began working in the Auto Body repair field and continued to do so up to a few weeks prior to his passing. Steve was a highly talented automotive painter; he used his skills and experience to open T&S Auto in 2017 with his son, Trae, in Swan Valley. Steve was extremely proud of the success of this family business.

In 1989, Steve met the love of his life, Teresa Karolyn Eldridge, and they were married in 1990 in Idaho Falls. Steve and Teresa went on to have two children of their own, Trae and Justine, and to adopt three children, Cally, Josalyn, and Julia. They were incredible, loving parents and raised five beautiful souls.

Steve was a big-hearted, generous man who loved life and met all challenges with a positive outlook and a fierce determination to succeed. He had an infectious humor and a quick smile that he used to lift those around him. Steve would go out of his way to help those in need and could always be counted on to support his friends and family. He was an intensely loyal friend who you dearly wanted around if you found yourself in a tough spot.

Steve was also a man of faith who believed in a higher calling and felt strongly that God has a plan for each of us. During the difficult last weeks of his life, he never lost this faith and met his end with dignity, grace, and humor that was an inspiration, but no great surprise, to those that knew him well.  Steve’s last thoughts and words were not of himself, but those that he was leaving behind.

Beyond Steve’s love for his family, his other great passion was the outdoors. He was a skilled and avid archery hunter who found great peace spending time in the mountains with Teresa and his kids and grandkids.

Steve is survived by his wife, Teresa Walker; children, Trae Walker (Morgan), Justine Pruett, Cally Walker, Josalyn Kunzler (Mark), Julia Walker; grandchildren, Elkstaan Pruett, Eliuus Pruett, Sareya Walker, and Kobe Kunzler; as well as his parents, grandparents, and siblings.

Steve will be greatly missed by the many people he touched in his life. The world is a little less bright without him, but we are all better people for the time we had with him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital , an organization focused on finding cures and saving children. Steve felt strongly about the good work this group does.
