STEVE MEPPEN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Stephen William “Steve”
Meppen, 42, of Idaho Falls, died October 10, 2003, at the University of
Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, of leukemia.
He was born May 12, 1961, at Idaho Falls, to William “Bill”
Meppen and Beverly “Jean” Young Meppen. He grew up in Idaho
Falls and attended schools here, graduating from Skyline High School in
1979. He has lived in the Idaho Falls area his entire life.
He married Leslie Ellen Crockett February 28, 1981, in
Idaho Falls. He worked as a security police officer for 17½ years
at the INEEL. He was employed by Bechtel until his illness prevented him
from working.
He attended the Shiloh Four Square Church, as well as Calvary
Chapel. He enjoyed camping, boating, snowmobiling, swimming, traveling,
spending time with family and friends, and helping others.

Brother: Robert Garry [Glenda] Meppen, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Karla Jean [Scot] Marsh, Boise, ID
Grandmother: Thelma Mae Ashton, Idaho Falls, ID
Step Grandmother: Opal Young, Sagle, ID

He was preceded in death by a grandmother, both his grandfathers, and a
step grandfather.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 17,
2003, at the Wood East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Dave
Griffiths of the Iona LDS 7th Ward officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:30
to 8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to the services on Friday, both at Wood
Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon).
Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery under the direction of
Wood Funeral Home East Side.
