STEPHEN L. BRUNSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Stephen Lewis Brunson, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sept. 15, 2007 at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He was born May 17, 1928 in Fillmore Utah to Lewis Clark and Alice Rebecca Brunson. Steve was the first born among the four children in the family. He graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho and attended the University of Idaho in Moscow where he held many track and field records.
On October 17, 1947, he married Jeanne Allen Skeleton in Rexburg. They lived in Rexburg and traveled with the Navy before settling in Idaho Falls with their two daughters.
Steve worked for Brunson Electric, and the Site as an Electrician. He then became a partner with Northwest Electric and, after retiring, he worked for the State of Idaho as an Electrical Inspector.
Steve loved to hunt and fish in his early years, but that grew into a love of boating, camping, water skiing, and snowmobiling with his family. He was active in the Idaho Falls Russet Lions Club, which included a lot of three legged races, popcorn selling, lawn raking, and hamburger flipping. He then joined the Snake River Boat Club, where he worked hard and played hard with family and friends at Palisades Lake. Steve was always willing to be there for anyone who needed his help and talents.
Survivors include his sister, Elaine Brunson Muir, brother, Terry Max (Patsy) Brunson, Daughters, Zoë Ellen Brunson (Ron) Coronado of New Mexico and Kimberli Rebecca Brunson of Idaho Falls; Grandchildren, Shawn Patrick Dougherty, Emily Marilu (Kelly) Bowcutt, Step Grandchildren; Jason, Cory, Tom, Jamie and 9 Step-great-grandchildren. Steve was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother Harry Brunson, and sister-in-law Marva Brunson.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. September 22, 2007 at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends following the service at the Elks Lodge, 640 East Elva, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to the Lions Club Sight Fund.

Zoe and Kim, words can not express how Holly and I felt when we heard of your fathers passing. We are so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of times long ago spent with your Mom and Dad. They were the greatest of times. May Gods blessings be with you and your family during this difficult time.

George and I will be out of town this weekend and therefore unable to attend your father's funeral. We were sorry to hear of his passing but understood how hard it has been recently. Know that we are thinking of you and are glad that we had an opportunity to chat with you a couple of weeks ago. If there is anything that we can do, don't hesitate to call.
