Stephanie Kay Mitchell, 61, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed on peacefully to meet her Heavenly Father at her daughter and son-in-law’s home on February 18, 2018. Stephanie was born September 5, 1956, to Ray LeRoy West and Mary Afton West in American Falls, Idaho. She grew up and attended school in Pocatello and Idaho Falls. She graduated from Skyline High School in 1975. She was in the Army Reserves from 1985-1986. Stephanie was employed in the restaurant industry in her early years and then moved into the medical profession as a sleep lab technician. She met Mike Conrad and they were married and had a beautiful daughter, Elizabeth. They made their home in Idaho Falls and were later divorced. Stephanie later met Brent Mitchell. They were married for 23 years. They were later divorced. Stephanie enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, water-skiing, white-water rafting, fishing, camping, horses and trips to Mexico. She had a great love and was very passionate for her daughter, Elizabeth; son-in-law, Nick Platisha; granddaughters, Taylor and Tayina; as well as her two yorkies, Izzie and Dante. She loved her family and spending time together with them at family gatherings. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Stephanie is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth; her son-in-law, Nick Platisha; and grandchildren, Taylor and Tayina Conrad. She is also survived by her siblings, Kathy (Tom) Burton of Boise, ID, Jackie Farley of Smithfield, UT, Lisa (Harry) Power of Idaho Falls, ID, Barbara Walker of Idaho Falls, ID, Linda (Robert) Farmer of Idaho Falls, ID, Valerie (Ben) Cowan of Rigby, ID, Jake Alan (Amber) Grasmick of Katy, TX, Kory West of Blackfoot, ID; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Jake N. Grasmick; sister, Maryann West; and her grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Avenue) in Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
