Stephanie VanDenburg Cerny, 55, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 29, 2017 at her home. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice and her family.
Stephanie was born July 4, 1961 in Gainesville, Florida to Hanna Mae Wright VanDenburg. On July 21, 1979 she married Michael Anthony Cerny in Gainesville Florida. They made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho for the past 10 years where Stephanie worked in customer service for Norco Medical Supply.
She was a strong woman who packed up the house 17 times to move the family across the country. She was active helping special needs adults and with the Special Olympics.
Stephanie bravely fought cancer for 15 years and fought until the last day. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Michael Cerny of Idaho Falls, ID; son, George Anthony Cerny III of San Francisco, CA; daughter Ashley Michelle Cerny of Idaho Falls, ID and brother Stephen Yates VanDenburg of Orlando, FL.
Her strength was only matched by her zest for life. She had an infectious spirit, laugh and could light up a room. That spirit will live on in all those that had the opportunity to meet her along the journey.
A celebration of her life will be held for family and friends, at 2:00pm, Saturday June 3, 2017 at Mike and Stephanie’s home; 3875 Magenta Drive, Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
