Stella Lucille Potter Peterson, 91, of Ammon, passed away on January 30, 2016, at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living Center. She was born March 7, 1924, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to John Rolland Potter and Belinda Jane Ellis Potter. The family moved to Idaho Falls where she graduated from Idaho Falls High School. On July 13, 1943, she married Jack Raymond Peterson in San Francisco, California. Together they had four children, Mary, Tonia, Betty Jo, and Jack Jr. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. They lived in San Francisco; Arizona; Casa Blanca, Morocco in Africa; Bellview, Nebraska; and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. In 1968, they moved to Idaho Falls where she has since resided. Her husband passed away in 1995. Stella loved camping, fishing, and boating with her family. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts, ceramics, cake decorating, and counted cross stitch. Survivors are: Daughter: Tonia (Rick) Cook, Ammon, ID Daughter: Betty Jo Peterson, Ammon, ID Son: Jack R. (Carolyn) Peterson, Jr., Idaho Falls, ID 14 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Mary Schatz; one son-in-law, David Schatz; two great grandchildren; and nine siblings. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon Road). The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.
