Stacy Jeanne Carney, 44, of Pocatello, passed away peacefully Friday, September 7, 2012, at the home of her parents in Rigby.
Stacy was born July 26, 1968, in Bethesda, Maryland, to Dayrl Jay McMullin and Diane Theresa Huber McMullin. Having been born into a Navy family, Stacy spent her first five years in Manassas, Virginia, and on Ford Island in Hawaii. From there she and her family moved to Chula Vista, California, where they lived for the next seven years. In addition to attending schools there, Stacy loved all the exciting tourist attractions that southern California offers. It was there that she developed a lifelong love of whales, especially orcas. Throughout her life she managed to assemble a collection of whales that could fill a museum. When her father retired from the Navy in 1981, the family moved to Lewisville, Idaho. It was while living there in 1986 that she graduated Rigby High School, and later went on to Idaho State University.
In 1990 she married Michael Carney. They were later divorced. Stacy had a wide variety of business skills in workplaces such as the billing office of Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, V-1 Propane, Petersen, Parkinson & Arnold Law Office, Security Connections, and Behavioral Reform, Inc. She also worked as an ad designer for the Auto Seller Magazine.
Because of her love of orcas, Stacy’s final wish was to be laid to rest in Puget Sound with her loved whales. Her wish will be honored.
Our family would like to give thanks to the staff of Encompass Hospice for the exceptional care they gave to Stacy. We especially want to thank Cindy Hill, RN of Encompass, who showed great care and compassion for Stacy and immense support to our family. She is a true Florence Nightingale.
