Sophia Rodriguez

June 22, 2017 - August 4, 2018

Sophia Graci Rodriguez, 13 months old, of Idaho Falls, passed away on August 4, 2018, at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born June 22, 2017, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Lorenzo Rodriguez and Kristi Chacon. She was born prematurely at 28 weeks. She came into this world fighting with a lot of things going against her. She was one tough little girl, she fought a good fight. She was a beautiful girl with a beautiful heart and soul and loved by whoever came in contact, from her family all the way to all her medical providers. She put a smile on everyone’s face and filled a void in many peoples lives. She spent a lot of time at the hospital as a baby. Even after going home she was in and out of the hospital frequently. Anyone who came in contact with Sophia fell in love with her. Her favorite thing to do was to lay in her Mom’s arms all day. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by her mother, Kristi Chacon of Idaho Falls, ID; father, Lorenzo Rodriguez of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Trevor Smithies; sister, Cortney Clay; and sister, Myria Rodriguez and husband Andres Garcia; grandfather, Jesse Rodriguez; grandmother, Jesse Smithies; aunt, Brandi Bridges; aunt, Sheri Santos; aunt, Kelli Chacon; cousin, Kelcei Chacon and husband Fernando Llamas; cousin, McKencei Chacon; and special mention, Audrey Nicholls.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wanda Davidson, Thane Chacon and Clara Avila.

A gathering will be held Monday, August 13, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge.
