Simon Gisin

Simon Gisin, 61, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away November 21, 2015, at his home.

Simon was born February 1, 1954, in Basel, Switzerland, to Franz and Trudy Gisin. He spent the first two years of his life in Switzerland. Simon briefly lived in Pocatello and Twin Falls before moving to Idaho Falls where he spent the rest of his life.

In May 1976, he married Carol Buttars Fullmer in Idaho Falls. To this union were born two children: Jared and Jessica. They were later divorced. Simon then married Aileen Earle in March of 1991 and they were blessed with a son, Will. Aileen and Simon were later divorced. Simon was recently briefly married and then divorced to Laura McFarland. Simon made his home in Idaho Falls, where he made a living as a painter, woodcarver, and artist.

Simon loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, camping, and gardening. He was an extremely talented woodcarver and artist. Simon was a devoted and loving father and will be forever missed.

Simon is survived by his son, Jared Simon Gisin of Renton, WA; daughter, Jessica (Matthew) Norviel of Menan, ID; son, Will Gisin of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Franz Gisin of CA; brother, Ben Gisin of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Shakti Higgins of CA; and two grandchildren, Kendall and Beau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franz and Trudy Gisin; and brother, Daniel Gisin.

Memorial Services will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2016, Simon's 62nd Birthday, at the Willard Arts Center, 498 A Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402.
