I found out about your Mom's passing tonight--and I was sad that I didn't know earlier! I would have loved seeing you folks again--and I would have tried to come up from Salt Lake City.
I've spent a lot of hours in Shirley's home, and I loved how personable and gracious she always was to me. She was a woman who could do hard things and she was easy to talk to. I first became acquainted with Shirley when your family moved to Ucon from Ririe. I liked to visit in the big yellow house!
As the years went by, I would often visit LeeAnn at the house near the Ucon church, and Shirley always was so appreciative of my visits, too.
I'm sure Shirley and LeeAnn are enjoying a happy reunion. They were good friends and I'm sure they still are. It must feel great to them to know that they don't have to suffer physical pain any more!
I hope there is a way for you to send this message to Will, Bob, Theron, and Debbie for me. Please know that I remember well the feelings of loss when both of my parents "graduated," and I hope that you can celebrate the happy moments and the great character that you Mom experienced. She will be closer than you think--and she will be cheering you on during your hard times.
Please know of our love & concern at this difficult time!
Love,
Colleen
