Shirley Caudle

Shirley Grace Caudle,76, of Monteview, Idaho, passed away from natural causes April 3, 2013, at her winter home in Homassassa, Florida. Shirley was born June 14, 1936, in Monticello, Indiana, to Joseph Albert (Bert) Bowsher and Ethel Mae Schnepp Bowsher. She married her life long love Stanley Caudle on July 2, 1954. They had 3 sons Kevin, Jon and Rick. Shirley graduated from Beauty School and owned and operated her shop in Monticello and later in Terreton, Idaho. The family moved to the Terreton, Idaho, area in 1968, and later purchased the family farm in Monteview. Shirley worked hard all her life. She was the secretary at Snake River Equipment and Folkman/Hunter Grain. She managed the popular Wagon Wheel Café, owned and operated the Monteview store, and the grocery store in Mud Lake - renaming it M&M Grocery. Stan and Shirley bought property in Homosassa, Florida, where they spent winters after they retired. Several lifelong friends from Indiana lived in the same area and they enjoyed spending time with them and the new friends they made in Florida. Shirley was a member of the West Jefferson Lady Lions and a very active member of the Moose Lodge in Homossassa. Several years ago Shirley was able to purchase a 1967 Chrysler Newport convertible and she enjoyed going to local car shows. "Gmagogo" was thrilled and excited when she won a sponsors choice at her very first car show in Rigby. She love to crochet and made beautiful Afghans. Hummingbirds were a favorite and she fed many both in Idaho and in Florida. One of Shirley’s favorite times was getting the family together for a barbeque on the farm, especially in July when the family would all bring fireworks and have a great display after the dinner. She is survived by her sister, June of Monticello, Indiana, her sons, Kevin (Glenna), Jon (Cindy) and Rick (Debbie), all of Terreton, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Stan, her parents, brothers, Clarence, Roger and Joe, and her sister, Marie. As she requested no service be held, a family gathering will be held at a later date.
