SHIRLEY BYINGTON
RIRIE, ID -- Shirley Brown Byington, 73, of Ririe, Idaho
died February 26, 2005, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 18, 1931, in Rigby, Idaho, to George
Taylor Brown and Annie Virginia Brady Brown. She grew up in Rigby and
attended schools there, graduating from Rigby High School. She was active
in the marching band in high school.
She married Larry Douglas Byington October 2, 1951, in
Pocatello. Their marriage was later solemnized February 14, 1958, in the
Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Ririe, where they farmed
and later owned and operated Byington's Rainbow Printing. She was a homemaker
and mother and worked at Brown’s IGA in Ririe and for the Ririe
School District for over 30 years as a bus driver. Doug passed away March
25, 1992.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, she served in various capacities over the years, and was an officiator
in the Idaho Falls Temple with her husband from 1985-1991. After Doug’s
death she continued officiating in the temple until 1995. She enjoyed
crocheting dolls and afghans for her family and friends, working with
plastic canvas, riding in the spade truck with Shain, and spending time
with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Brother: Rex Brown, Lewisville, ID
22 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Laurie Ann Byington,
a sister, Jean Harris, and two brothers who died in early childhood.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March
2, 2005, at the Ririe LDS 2nd Ward, 14061 North 130 East, Ririe, with
Bishop Steve Hickman officiating.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6 to
8 p.m. at Wood East Side Chapel (963 S. Ammon) and Wednesday for one hour
prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery under the
direction of Wood Funeral Home.
