Shirlene H. (Murdock) Ball

Shirlene H. Ball, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away March 2, 2022, at her son, Darin’s home in Shelley, surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Symbii Home Health and Hospice.

Shirlene was born May 11, 1938, in Idaho Falls, to Jack and Blanche (Hill) Murdock. She was the second of three children. Shirlene had a happy childhood.

Shirlene married Elan Ball on April 23, 1958, in Idaho Falls. Together, they had four children, Craig, Tammie, Darin, and Teresa. Family always held a special place in Shirlene’s heart. She was a meat wrapper for many years in various grocery stores. After retiring, she worked as a care giver for the elderly.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Eagles. She enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, Darin Willard (Christa) Ball of Shelley, Tammie Lin Doman and Teresa Ann (Clair Manwill) Butikofer, both of Idaho Falls; daughter-in-law, Donna Ball Pearson of Beaverton, Oregon; sister, Marlene (Tom) Duffield of Boise; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elan Ball; her parents, Jack and Blanche Murdock; son, Craig Ball; son-in-law, Scott Doman; brother, Geary Murdock; grandson, Nicholas “Nick” Ball; and granddaughter, Grace Joy Ball.

The family wishes to express appreciation to Symbii Home Health and Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home East Side Chapel, 963 S. Ammon Road, in Ammon, Idaho. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
