Shirlene Louise Lloyd Beall was born on December 15, 1939, at the Idaho Falls LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Jesse Griff and Verla Louis Lloyd. She passed away on October 23, 2026, at her home in Idaho Falls. Shirlene's dad passed away in 1947, when she was just seven years old. She was the apple of his eye and she missed him the rest of her life.
Shirlene spent most of her life in Idaho Falls, attending elementary and junior high in Idaho Falls. She also attended Idaho Falls High School through her Junior year. Shirlene, her mother, and her sister Judy, moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Mom attended her Senior year of high school there and graduated from South High School in Salt Lake. While living in Salt Lake, Shirlene met and married Larry E. Lunnen and her first daughter, Debra Jo, was born. Shortly after that they were divorced.
In 1958, Shirlene and Debbie moved back to Idaho Falls, where Shirlene later met Lynn H. Gneiting. They were married and soon her second daughter, Trudy Lynn was born. Lynn adopted Debbie and they became a family of four. They lived a wonderful life on a farm where mom was the perfect farmer's wife, cooking meals for her family and many hired hands, canning, gardening and keeping a beautiful and clean home. Cleaning was one of her hobbies that lasted throughout her life. Lynn and Shirlene were later divorced as were her and her next husband, Dayle Daniel.
Our Mom had a few hobbies in her life and really loved traveling, golfing, bowling, hiking, snow machining, playing bridge, and being with friends and family. Shirlene enjoyed working outside the home and worked at some interesting places as a bookkeeper, including Idaho Falls Downtown Development Corp., Idaho Falls Mental Health Center, Human Services Head Start, Basic American Foods, and her last career, a real estate agent. Shirlene enjoyed this job and took pride in serving her clients and all the great people she met along the way.
If you knew our mom, you knew she always looked beautiful. Her hair was always done, makeup perfect and always dressed to the nines, including matching shoes and jewelry. I think the word we've heard the most to describe our mom is a very classy lady, and she was.
A few years later Shirlene met her one and only, Alfred Arlen Beall. They dated for a few years and then on August 23, 2002, they were married at their home in Idaho Falls. We believe he was the one she had been waiting for all her life and we know how devoted he was to her. They did some traveling, spent time with friends, golfing, going to Arizona for the winters and spending lots of time with family. Mom loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as does Arlen.
As mom's health failed Arlen was right by her side, taking care of her day and night, making sure she looked up to her standards on the daily, getting her meals (and her new favorite, desserts).
Shirlene was preceded in death by her dad, Jesse Griff Lloyd; mom, Verla Louise Hart, and her second dad, Joe Hart.
She is survived by her husband, Arlen Beall; daughters, Debbie (Ervin) Blumhorst, and Trudy (Joe) Fife; her grandchildren, Adrian and Haley Russell, Kalli Andersen, E Brady Blumhorst, and their spouses; nine great grandchildren; her sister, Judy (Larry) Wiegel; and her nieces and nephew. She is also survived by her longest dearest best friend, Joyce Riley (friends since 1953); and her newest best friend, Michelle Hansen, her beloved hairdresser and confidant.
Arlen and family want to personally thank Tabitha, her personal caregiver (she loved mom) and her crew, along with the RN, Nakita, from Alliance Home Health and Hospice. The kindness and love they showed taking care of mom was amazing, and we are very grateful to them.
Shirlene will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.
