Sheryl Stoddard

Sheryl Ann Stoddard, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 27, 2016, at MorningStar Senior Living Center. She was under the care of her loving family and Aspen Home Health and Hospice. Sheryl was born April 20, 1934, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Luther Ballif Squires and Afton Thompson Squires. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School, where she was editor of the school newspaper and on the yearbook staff. She was also a member of the Pep Club.

In 1952, she married Lynn Hansen in a garden ceremony at her parents' home in Idaho Falls. To this union four children were born, Jeff, Jennifer, Jody, and Jaci. Sheryl and Lynn made their home in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced, but remained friends until his passing.

Sheryl worked for her father in accounting during high school and while raising her family. She then continued her career at Crandall & John Accounting firm, from which she retired in 1999.

In 1991, she married Jack Stoddard in Idaho Falls. Sheryl and Jack had a wonderful life together until his passing in 1998.

She was a member of The Church Of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed needlepoint, reading and travel, and being with friends and family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sheryl is survived by her son, Jeff (JoAnn) Hansen of Nampa, ID; daughter, Jennifer (Keith) Eickelman of Glenwood Springs, CO; son, Jody ( Nancy) Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID; and daughter, Jacqueline (Rick) Hansen of Tucson, AZ; and two sisters, Nancy (Norm) Olsen and Sandra Jo (Clark) Benson, both of Salt Lake City, UT; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, with Clark Benson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, both at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
