Sheryl (Brown) Peterson

Sheryl Peterson, 86, of Rexburg, passed away February 24, 2023, at Homestead Assisted Living in Rexburg, Idaho.

Sheryl was born August 14, 1936, in Davisville, Idaho, to Melverton Cook Brown and Inez Ovanda Balls Brown. She grew up and attended schools in Soda Springs and graduated from Soda Springs High School.

On June 7, 1957, she married Earl Grant Peterson in Soda Springs, Idaho. Sheryl and Earl made their home in Grace, Idaho.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting, loved her flowers and vegetable garden, and loved to read. After retirement, they traveled south, enjoying their fifth wheel for 20 years.

Sheryl is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Douglas) Lau of Soda Springs, ID; son, Gregory (Katie) Peterson of Payson, UT; son, Cory (Traci) Peterson of Rexburg, ID; son, Bruce Peterson of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kirsten Peterson of Shelley, ID; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Grant Peterson; her parents, Melverton and Inez Brown; and her siblings.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
