Sheryl Johnson

Sheryl Mae Curtis Johnson was born in Shelley, Idaho to Wesley and Juanita Curtis on December 11, 1941, along with her twin sister Sharon Leatham. She passed away from a long hard-fought illness on September 21, 2018, surrounded by friends and family at her beautiful home that she enjoyed decorating.

As a young girl, she helped around the farm with her three brothers, Neil Curtis (Karon), Paul (Conny) Curtis, and Harrold (Cheryl) Curtis, and four sisters Janet (Wendell) Campbell, Stella (Joe) McCann, Sharon (Doug) Leatham, and Gloria (Rod) Kartchner, tending to chores on the farm and going to school.

Sheryl married her high school sweetheart Marvin D. Johnson on August 19, 1960, and they recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. During their marriage they had two children Kamill Johnson (Jay) Marsh and Mike (Debbie) Johnson. Sheryl enjoyed raising her children and teaching them the kindness and patience that radiated around her, and passing this kindness to everyone she met.

She enjoyed working and modeling for the Bon Marche, the Ammon LDS 17th ward, going camping, traveling with her husband, working in her yard planting flowers, going shopping with her sister and spending time with her family, including her five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Juanita, her sisters, Stella and Janet.

The family would like to thank the Ammon LDS 17th ward and it’s members, family and friends, and especially Mark and Kelli Andrews, mom and dad’s neighbors, for their strong support.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the Ammon LDS 17th Ward, 4459 John Adams Parkway. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
