Sherrie Lee (Bell) Stears

Sherrie Lee Stears, 71, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away December 14, 2023, peacefully at home.

Sherrie was born May 30, 1952, in Rigby, Idaho to Sherrill Bell and Lillian Weekes Bell. She grew up and attended schools in the Rexburg area and graduated from Madison High School. She also attended Ricks College.

On July 10, 1981, she married Kent Leroy Stears in Jackson, Wyoming. Kent and Sherrie made their home in Juneau, Alaska, where Sherrie worked for the State of Alaska. They later retired to Idaho Falls.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting with her family.

Sherrie is survived by her children: daughter, Carrie Tibbitts (Nathan Travis) of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Steven Tibbitts of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jason (Lacy) Stears of Juneau, AK; daughter, Kendra (Trevor) Hill of Juneau, AK; step-son, Gary (Heidi) Stears of Juneau, AK; step-daughter, Jodi Stears of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Paula (Varr) Snedaker of Rexburg, ID; brother, Gary Bell of Rexburg, ID; sister, Diane Bell of Rexburg, ID; loyal companions, Ed and Sassy; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kent Stears; parents, Sherrill and Lillian Bell; a sister; and two brothers.
