Sherid LaVaughn Lindsey, 77, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away February 16, 2016, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
Sherid was born July 15, 1938, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Sherid Sommer Lindsey and Fern Hill Lindsey. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1958. He later served as a private in the U. S. Army. He has lived in Iona, Idaho Falls, Rigby, and Rexburg, Idaho.
On May 14, 1965, he married Linda Dean Harvey in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized four years later in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born five children, Robin, Nina, Matthew, Stacy, and James. Sherid worked as a truck driver for thirteen years, as a police officer for the City of Ammon, and as a machinist for Lindon Hitch.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sherid enjoyed building model trains and ships, and also enjoyed writing stories.
Sherid is survived by: daughter, Robin Lynnae (Ronald) House of Lake Conroe, TX; son, Matthew Dean (Susan) Lindsey of Rigby, ID, daughter, Stacy Erin (Stephen) Maestas of Provo, UT, son, James William (Kim, deceased) Lindsey of Rigby, ID. sister, LeeAnn (Jay) Wells of Shelley, ID; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Dana Edwards, a daughter, Nina Leigh Lindsey-Schick, and a daughter-in-law, Kim Lindsey.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the Rexburg LDS Stake Center, 845 West 7th South, with Chris Wilson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery.
