Shelly Thompson

Shelly Rae Spaulding Thompson, 57, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 23, 2016, at Rexburg Care and Rehabilitation Center. Shelly was born November 19, 1958, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Lee Galbraith Nukaya and her father. She was raised by Katz Nukaya, Lee’s husband, whom Shelly considered her father. Shelly grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She married Steven Thompson in Idaho Falls. To this union were born two sons; Trent and Troy Thompson. Shelly and Steve were later divorced. Shelly spent the majority of her career caring for others. She worked for many healthcare providers, including the Yellowstone Care Center. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Shelly enjoyed reading, watching movies and playing with her dog, Daisy. Shelly is survived by her son, Troy Thompson of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Trent Thompson of Idaho Falls, ID; mother, Lee Nukaya of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Bryce Spaulding of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Margo Jensen of Rexburg, ID; sister, Natalie Bruun of Indianapolis, IN; and one grandson, Braxton. She was preceded in death by her father, Katz Nukaya. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
