Sheila Kay Carson, 79, of Ammon, passed away August 2, 2025, at her home. She was under the care of her loving family.
Sheila was born February 22, 1946, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Leslie Richard Sorensen and Norma June Wardle Sorensen. She grew up and attended schools in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School. She also attended Brigham Young University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
On March 12, 1971, she married Michael Harold Carson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sheila and Mike made their home in Mt. Airy, Maryland, where they raised their children, Jennifer, Benjam, and Joseph. They moved to Ammon, Idaho, to retire near family.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served for many years in the Relief Society and Primary. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, playing the piano, and singing. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Mike Carson of Ammon, ID; daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Kines of Little Rock, AR; son, Benjam Carson of Idaho Falls; son, Joseph (Barbara) Carson of Pocatello, ID; sisters, Leslie Sorensen and Nedra (Tony) Bell, both of Idaho Falls; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Linda Rae Sorensen and Jane Ellen Solomon; and brother, Vernal Richard Sorensen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Ammon Foothills Stake Center, 3934 E. 49th S. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
