Shawn Ira Rydalch passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015, at the age of 49, at his home in Idaho Falls.
Shawn was born June 21, 1966, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Richard Leon and Sandra Lee Rydalch. He was the first child of the family. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, and motorcycling and was very athletic. He earned his Eagle Scout Rank in the Boy Scouts of America as a teenager and played basketball at Skyline High School. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1984. He attended Ricks College, as well as Eastern Idaho Technical College, where he received numerous certifications in Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
Shawn married Kenda Price in November of 1987 in Idaho Falls. He was blessed with a daughter, Rebecca, and a son, Tyler. They raised their family in Idaho Falls. Shawn worked and lived in Idaho Falls his whole life. He worked for Diamond H Testing in Pocatello and Diversified Metal Products in Idaho Falls. He was most recently employed by URS Construction, DOE/INL Integrated Waste Treatment Unit (IWTU) as a Quality Assurance Engineer (welding inspector) and traveled the country working on several job sites for months at a time. He was very dedicated and took pride in his work. He had many exciting and interesting work experiences.
Shawn loved his family and friends. He was always able to bring a smile to everyone's face when he spent time with them. He was always helping out a neighbor, friend or family member in need. He enjoyed BBQ's to allow time to visit. He was adored by his nieces and nephews; he was kind and generous to all who knew him.
Shawn is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Rydalch, son, Tyler Rydalch, their mother, Kenda Rydalch, his parents, Richard and Sandra (Snedaker) Rydalch, a brother, Scott (Alison) Rydalch, and three sisters, Janna (Brandon) Lott, Jacqueline McIntire, and Joy Rydalch; many nieces, nephews and cousins, and all his many very good friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nyal and Marva Rydalch, and Max and Eva Snedaker.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at the Idaho Falls LDS Mountain View Ward Building, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Randall B. Wheeler officiating. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday before the services at the church. Interment will be at the Milo Cemetery.
