Shauna Marie McGary

Shauna Marie Harding McGary, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 12, 2026, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.

Shauna was born June 20, 1958, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ivan Fredrick Harding and Eunice LaRee Burtenshaw Harding. She grew up on the West side of Idaho Falls and attended Ethel Boyes Elementary, Central Jr. High School, Clair E. Gale Jr. High, and graduated from Skyline High School in 1977. After high school, she received her cosmetology license from Excelsius Beauty School.

On April 14, 1984, she married Keith Ray McGary in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Shauna and Keith made their home in Idaho Falls where Shauna worked as a cosmetologist for Lucy's Style Shop, His & Her Style Design, and West Bank Tower Shop before becoming a homemaker and working from home.

Shauna was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held various callings, including five years as a librarian, many years as Emergency Preparedness Specialist with her husband, and as a visiting teacher. Shauna loved sewing since the 8th grade, and was especially pleased to replace their jeep seat covers, and later to sew her daughter’s wedding dress. She enjoyed scuba diving with her husband and their annual attendance at the War Bonnet Rodeo. Decades were spent supporting Keith in Bonneville County Search & Rescue. Her infectious laugh and love for her family will be missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Laisa (Eric) Kelley of Shelley, ID; brother, Blair (Carolyn) Harding of Idaho Falls, ID; and sister, Annette Saville of Rupert, ID.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith McGary; and brother-in-law, Steve Saville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 4030 John Adams Parkway, with Bishop Jason Atwood of the Ammon 9th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
