Shauna Mae Porter Decker, 66, of Rigby, passed away March 21, 2017, at her home. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
Shauna was born August 19, 1950, in Preston, Idaho, to Tharol George Porter and Mae Gregory Porter. She grew up and attended schools in Preston and graduated from Preston High School. She also attended Brigham Young University.
On June 13, 1969, she married Gerald Hodges in the Logan LDS Temple. To this union were born five children, Jerry, Tonya, Bryan, DJ, and Mitch. They were later divorced. Shauna was a homemaker and mother. She married Con Decker. They later divorced.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Relief Society, Sunday School, and Primary. She enjoyed crochet, cross stitch, BYU sports, and reading. She volunteered at the Teton Cancer Institute and donated many crocheted lap blankets to the Institute and to nursing homes.
Shauna is survived by her daughter, Tonya Hodges of Salt Lake City, UT; son, Bryan Hodges of Shelley, ID; son, DJ (Somer) Hodges of Rigby, ID; son, Mitch (Stacie) Hodges of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Rick (Brenda) Porter of Herriman, UT; sister, Roxann (Carl) Owen of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Stan (Carol) Porter of Evanston, WY; and 7 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jerry Hodges, and a brother, Dennis Porter.
The family would like to express appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Teton Cancer Institute and Hands of Hope Hospice for their loving care of our mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Rigby LDS 3rd Ward, 364 North 4100 East. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road in Idaho Falls, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church in Rigby. Burial will be in the Woodville Cemetery.
