Sharron Ballard

Sharron Ada Ballard of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away June 6, 2017, at her home. She was under the care of Encompass Home Health and Hospice and her family. She was born January 8, 1935, to Ralph and Persis Taylor in Iona, Idaho. Sharron married Theodore "Ted" William Jr. on May 29, 1951, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and shortly thereafter moved to Florida where Ted served in the U.S. Navy. They returned to Idaho Falls to raise their family. Sharron worked in the bakery for Safeway’s stores for 28 years. She was a very accomplished artist, creating lasting memories in her oil paintings. She had a special interest in Native American culture. She enjoyed her time on their boat "Drifty I," spending time with her family at Star Valley Ranch and her dogs, Daphne and Tuffy. Sharron is survived by her husband, Ted; children, Scott (Annie), Randy (Jacklyn), Kellie (Greg) Nielson, and Cameron (Alisha); siblings, Loy David (Jean) Taylor, Meredith Taylor, Fawn (Ron) Hedelius,, Patti (Tom) Newman, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Sharron is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Percy Taylor, brother, Larry (Janice) Taylor, sisters-in-law, Sharon Taylor and Pauline Ballard, brother-in-law, Jerry (Adrianne) Ballard, and in-laws, Theodore "Spike" (Edna "Bingo") Ballard. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Steve Miller officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The American Cancer Society. Sharron’s family wishes to thank Encompass Home Health and Hospice, the caring staff at Parkwood Meadows and all those who loved and cared for her through the years.
