Sharon (Phillips) Wolfensberger

Sharon Phillips Wolfensberger, 77, of Rigby, passed away October 5, 2021, at her home. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice.

Sharon was born July 31, 1944, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Keith Edward Phillips and Elaine Summers Phillips. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She also attended Idaho State University and became a paralegal.

On June 9, 1992, she married Alan Wood Wolfensberger in Rigby, Idaho. Sharon and Alan made their home in Rigby.

Sharon worked as a bartender for many years, where she met so many of her lifetime friends. Al and Sharon loved to go to Birch Creek. They enjoyed the famous Island Park rodeo, a place where many friends and family have very fond memories with them. Sharon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mom loved to travel. She was very animated when she spoke of the travels she did with all of her sisters. She loved the time she got to spend with them. She loved floating the river in Swan Valley with her gal friends, “The Floating Floozies”.

Mom loved her grandchildren like crazy. They were her world! They absolutely loved hanging out with her!

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Deborah Vazquez of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Monica (Tom) Foster of Rigby, ID; sons, Darin Chadwick of Moore, ID; Thad (Tabitha) Frazier of Ambrose, ND; and Dusty Wolfensberger of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Julie (Brian) Singarajah; sister, Beverly Phillips of Kuna, ID; sister, Jill (Mike) Serpa of Pocatello, ID; sister, Joy (Steve) Fuda of Pocatello, ID; 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Al, parents, sister, Sue, son Jon, granddaughters Shantay Marie, Kaylen Skye, and Stormi Skye.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2021, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Tom Foster officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery.

The family would like to offer our appreciation to all of our mothers’ amazing friends for their outpouring of love and respect for her. Please know she loved all of you too!
