Sharon Taylor, 74, of Iona, passed away January 7, 2017, at her home. She was under the loving care of her family and Abode Hospice. Sharon was born January 11, 1942, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Ralph Sidney Speirs and Thiel Zettie Kearl Speirs. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. On July 12, 1961, she married Meredith D. "Med" Taylor in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born three daughters, Meridee, Karyn, and Melissa. Sharon and Meredith made their home in Iona, Idaho, where Sharon was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She also worked at Helm’s Bakery, Albertson’s, and Safeway as a cake decorator. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed spending time with children, gardening and bird watching, sewing, puzzles, and helping others. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Med Taylor of Iona, ID; daughter, Meridee (Larry) Wobig of Iona, ID, daughter, Karyn (Tony) Boicelli of Red Bluff, CA, daughter, Melissa (Troy) Hiltbrand of Idaho Falls, ID, 5 grandchildren, Taylor, Niko, Tanner, Brenna, and Camille. sister, Verna Davidson of Idaho Falls, ID, brother, Doug Speirs of Idaho Falls, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sydnee McCambridge. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Iona LDS 2nd Ward, 7555 North 55 East, with Bishop Hal Schofield officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.

12:00 PM ,Friday, January 13, 2017 Iona LDS 2nd Ward 7555 North 55th East Idaho Falls, ID, Bonneville 83401 Notes: The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
