Sharon was born August 7, 1948, to Jean R. and Lois Ritchie Tracy. She grew up in Ucon, Idaho and graduated from Bonneville High School. She also earned a Bachelor's degree in elementary education from BYU. Quality teaching was a lifelong passion, culminating in her publishing her masterwork, "Loving Primary".
Sharon was an accomplished pianist and organist, and served as director of the Choralaires singing group. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and especially enjoyed serving in music-related capacities.
In 1971, she married Norman R. Ricks in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Family was the center of her life. The were blessed with three children: Janene, Clark, and Grant.
Sharon is survived by her husband Norman, of Idaho Falls, ID; her children, Janene (Joseph) Wadsworth of Island Park, ID; Clark (Lillie) Ricks of Sandpoint, ID; and Grant (Alexis) Ricks of Petaluma, CA; as well as 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Tiebreaker LDS Chapel (1100 Tiebreaker Drive) with President Dennis Stevens presiding. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. Interment will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
