Sharlene Kay Mills Johnson, 74, of Ammon, passed away April 18, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of heart failure. Sharlene was born March 6, 1937, in Green River, Wyoming, to Blaine Mills and Estella Laurine Jones Mills. She grew up in Bountiful, Utah and graduated from Davis High School. She also attended Brigham Young University. On August 16, 1956, she married M. Ray Johnson in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They lived briefly in Hyde Park and North Logan, Utah, Tucson, Arizona, and Odessa, Texas, before moving to Ammon 33 years ago. Sharlene was a homemaker and mother. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sharlene served in many teaching and leadership positions. She loved serving her family. Sharlene is survived by her loving husband of nearly 55 years, Ray; four sons, Michael Ray (Patty) Johnson of Niceville, FL, Timothy Mills (Josephina) Johnson of Brigham City, UT, Matthew Adams (Jennifer) Johnson of Iona, ID, and Talmage Samuel Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; three daughters, Terri Ann (Bret) Wixom of Iona, ID, Karen Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID, and Sandra Kay (Robert) Geray of Iona, ID; and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Vest, and a grandson, Adam Ray Johnson. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Ammon LDS 5th Ward, 2055 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Randy Collins officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wood East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
