Shane E. McVey, 54, passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2018.
Shane was born April 5, 1963, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Larry H. McVey and Shirley Ann Soule McVey. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls.
In 1983, he married Melva Miller in Idaho Falls. To this union were born three children; a daughter, Kassy; and twin sons, Keegan and Kaden. Shane and Melva were later divorced.
Shane made his home in Idaho Falls, where he owned and operated McVey Concrete. Earlier in life, he worked for the forest service, the auto body industry and as an avid mechanic and welder. He was a hard working man who knew how to do just about anything.
In 2015, he was baptized as a Born Again Christian at the Cowboy Church in Rigby, Idaho.
Shane could rarely be found indoors. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, fishing, hunting with his boys, and boating, which usually involved cliff jumping. He had a passion for horses, and in recent years was active in the horse racing community.
Shane loved his family and friends, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a relentless tease, and loved making people laugh. His optimism and zest for life were second to none. His happiest moments were spent with his family, and he was most proud as a father and grandpa.
Shane is survived by his daughter, Kassy (Chase) McKinley; son, Keegan L. (Payton) McVey; son, Kaden G. McVey; mother, Shirley Ann McVey; brother, Vance (Manuela) McVey; sister, Sherry (Doug) Elliott; and four grandchildren, Madisyn, Gage, Krew and Kye.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry H. McVey and brother, Rayce McVey.
