SETH L. JENKINS
IDAHO FALLS, ID --Seth LeGrande Jenkins left this mortal
existence, 24 June 2003, of complications following open-heart surgery.
Seth was born 23 February 1922, to Evan W. And Alice Hawkins
Jenkins, in their home in Ucon, Idaho. He was the seventh of eight children.
Seth graduated from Ucon High School and attended the University of Idaho
on a Union Pacific Scholarship, graduating with a B.S. in biology. He entered
the U. S. Army Air Corps in 1944 as an Aviation Cadet, to be a pilot, but
was discharged when the war ended.
Seth married Sarah Elaine Woolf in 1946 in the Idaho Falls
LDS Temple. They had three children: Judy, Brad and Tom. After years of
battling M.S., Elaine passed away in 1980. Seth and his brother-in-law,
Jerry Woolf, started the Idaho Falls Clinical Laboratory in 1947. They opened
the Medical Mart in the early 1950s, expanding to 12 offices in three states.
In 1982, Seth met NaDene Kinard Kitchens in Salt Lake City.
They were married that fall in the Logan LDS Temple.
Seth was active in community affairs, including the Chamber
of Commerce and Board of Directors for the Development Workshop. His church
service included Young Men’s president, bishopric counselor, Stake
High Councilor, and temple initiatory worker. In 1996, he and NaDene served
a mission to the Washington, D.C., North Mission.
Seth loved spending time with his family fishing, snowmobiling,
and boating at his Island Park cabin. His interests included reading, traveling,
and real estate investing. He loved playing games with his family and friends.

Sister: Ann Staker, Idaho Falls, ID
25 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine; a daughter, Judy Andersen;
and brothers, Evan, William, Lyman, Spencer, Dee and Don.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28,
2003, at the Idaho Falls LDS Home Ranch Ward, 3195 South Holmes, with Bishop
James Burgoyne officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from
6:30-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and Saturday for one
hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Ucon
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the
Development Workshop in Idaho Falls.
