SELMA H. TROESCHER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Selma H. Troescher, 90 years young, passed away June 13, 2002, peacefully at her home in Salt Lake City surrounded by her five loving children.
Her great example of faithfulness, sacrifice and endurance will forever be remembered by her family and those who knew her.
She was born January 27, 1912 in Marysville, Idaho, to Horace M. and Carrie Humphreys.
She graduated from Ashton High School, then moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where she graduated from cosmetology school.
In 1940 she married William L. Troescher in Pocatello, Idaho, later making their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and delighted in bringing her children and grandchildren together.
People were important to her and she made many a part of her life. Everyone who knew her loved her.
She happily served as a volunteer worker for many community services and received recognition for 2000 hours of service as a pink lady auxiliary worker in the Idaho Falls Hospital. She retired as a beautician at age 87.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she willingly served in many church callings. She also served in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for 30 years.
She is survived by her loving children: Terry of Norwalk, CA; Betty Patrick of Salt Lake City, Utah; LaRita Godfrey (Gordon) of Sandy, Utah; Ted (Deeann) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; LeAnn Ostergaard (Steve) of Salt Lake City, Utah; JoAnn Troescher of Artesia, California; 18 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.Preceded in death by husband, William L. Troescher, Parents, Horace M. and Carrie Humphreys, Granddaughter, Becky Jo Woolsey, and two brothers, Walter and Leonard Humphreys.
A very special thank you to all of Selma’s care givers at Highland Care Center, Regent Assisted Living and Hospice of Utah, for their comfort and concern. You were wonderful and she loved you very much.
Services will be held at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Friday, June 21st, at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services from 10 to 10:45 a.m. A gathering of friends and family will also take place Thursday June 20th at Wood Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment, Rose Hill Cemetery
