Versal Scott Singleton, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away on September 14, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Scott was born July 31, 1955, in Shelley, Idaho, to George Blaine Singleton and Alice Dorothy Shosted Singleton. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. He then attended Eastern Idaho Technical College (EITC) and Idaho State University (ISU) where he received an Associate’s Degree.
He married Carrie Sue Ricks on April 14, 1978. They were later divorced. On February 29, 2008, he married Marissa Jann Peterson in Bonneville County. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on December 13, 2012. Scott worked as a carpenter, heavy equipment operator, mason, auto mechanic, and farmer. He used his talents and skills to build and design his own home.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. He enjoyed corvettes, fishing, hunting, camping, and collecting coins and guns.
Survivors are his: wife, Marissa Singleton of Idaho Falls, ID daughter, Honey (Phil) Bingham of Idaho Falls, ID son, Ben (Rachel) Singleton of Pocatello, ID son, Nathan (Amanda) Singleton of Idaho Falls, ID son, Jacob Singleton of Idaho Falls, ID granddaughter, Kaysha grandson, Maximus brother, Larry (Diane) Singleton of Idaho Falls, ID sister, Eva (Morgan) Clement of St. George, UT uncle, Doyle (Gloria) Singleton of Idaho Falls, ID
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Michael.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016, at the Ucon LDS Stake Center (2967 East 105 North) with Bishop Jon Holst, of the Ucon LDS Yellowstone Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon Rd.) and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
