Click Here To View Memorial Video Sarah Adaline Duke Walton, 93, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2015, at her son, Gary’s, home in Jameston, Idaho. She was born July 18, 1921, at the family ranch, East of Bennington, Idaho, to her parents, John Turner Duke and Olive L. Burbank Duke. She grew up on the ranch with her sisters, Ila and LaVon, and her brothers, Dan, Harry, and Lawrence. Her father passed away when she was four. Her schooling was at the Bennington school house, where she studied through the 8th Grade. On May 16, 1940, she married her sweetheart, Wendell S. Walton, in Bennington, Idaho. He was from Star Valley, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in November 1960. Sarah and Wendell lived in Thayne, Wyoming, where their first son, Bruce, was born. They later lived in Idaho Falls, Soda Springs, and Montpelier, Idaho, for approximately 16 years. Gary and Paul were born there. In 1960, she and Wendell moved to Ammon, Idaho, where she worked as a clerk at JC Penney for ten years. Wendell passed away in 1985. Sarah lived in Ammon until 2013, when she moved to her son, Paul’s, home in Murray, Utah. In 2014, Sarah moved to Gary’s home in Jameston. Most of all, she will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, wife, and grandmother. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings, and was a temple worker in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She had many friends and enjoyed baking her “famous” cinnamon rolls, rolls, and pies for many church and community functions. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and making afghans. She was also known as the sister that made and gave laundry bags to many missionaries in the Ammon area. Survivors are her: son, Gary L. (Marsha) Walton of Shelley, ID; son, Paul J. (Diane) Walton of Murray, UT; sister, Ila George of Chubbuck, ID; 11 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
