Sandra Talkington

Sandra Luana Cotterell Lee Talkington, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 7, 2010 at her home. Sandra was born April 11, 1949 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Albert Kaler Jr. And Marjorie Marie Cleverly Kaler. She was raised by her adoptive parents, Hazen S. And Ann Cotterell. She received her GED and attended ISU Vo-Tech studying Graphic Arts. She also attended Wishing Well Computer college specializing in Lotus, Word, and processing. She married Michael Allen Talkington on November 12, 1986. They made their home in Bloomington, Illinois for 18 years where she worked as a security officer at Burns International Security Services in Illinois. Michael preceded her in death. She has resided in Idaho Falls for the last six years. Sandra was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of the Martial Art Association of Illinois and had earned the rank of Rokkya in 1999. She was also in the U.S. Ju Jitsu Federation with a yellow belt in the 6th Ky-u in 2000 in Bloomington, Illinois. She had a lifetime membership with United States Martial Arts Association. She also attended the Idaho Falls Friendship Club. She enjoyed performing martial arts with her husband. She also enjoyed crafts, cooking, sewing, camping, and especially spending time with friends and family. Survivors include: Brother: James Kaler, Pocatello, ID Sister: Lena Knudsen, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Tina Reeves, Pine Bluff, AR Sister: Shirley Peterson, Spokane, WA Sister: Joy Hobbs, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Sam Cotterell, Bozeman, MT She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; husband; daughter, Barbara Ann Lee; brothers, Hazen Cotterell and Melvin Cotterell; and sister, Oral Kirkpatrick. The family will visit with family and friends on Monday, July 26, 2010, from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). Burial will be at a later date in the East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Bloomington, Illinois.
