Sandra Ruth "Sandy" Dougan

Sandra Ruth “Sandy” Dougan, 71, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 5, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Sandy was born May 31, 1955, in Idaho Falls, ID, to John Henry Gifford and Ruth Ella Russell Gifford. She grew up and attended schools in the Osgood, Blackfoot and Firth area and graduated from Skyline High School.

On November 29, 1994, she married Stuart Gene Dougan in Ammon, ID. Sandy and Stuart made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Sandy was a homemaker.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed bird watching, reading, watching movies, napping, and chatting with her family.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Stuart Dougan of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Blair Henry Lambert of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Jacob Lyle Lambert of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Christopher Ryan (Katie) Dougan of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Jeremy Alan (Misty) Dougan of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Dougan of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Mildred Ivie of Barstow, CA, brother, Gailen (Sandra) Gifford of Ammon, ID; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Gifford; baby boy Lambert, brother, John Wayne Gifford; sister, Deon Wise; and granddaughter, Teiauna Dougan.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Idaho Falls 21st Ward, 1155 1st Street, with Bishop Aaron Martin officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
