Sam Kelly Jr., 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 16, 2020, at the home of his brother, Bart Lewis. He was under the care of Solace Hospice.
Sam was born August 24, 1953, in Marigouin, LA, to Sam Kelly Sr. and Ollie Ruth Anderson Kelly. He grew up and attended schools in Maringouin, LA and graduated from Livonia High School. He attended ISU and received his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
On September 1, 1972, he married Margaret Anne Lewis in Idaho Falls, ID. They later divorced. Sam worked as a Chemist for INEEL in Idaho and Hanford in New York and Washington States.
He was a member of the Eagles. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, and talking trash. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Sam is survived by his daughter, Regina Kelly of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Garren (Jennifer) Kelly of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Charles Kelly of Houston, TX; sisters, Xavier (Stanley) Anderson and Wanda Kelly, both of Maringouin, LA; 2 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ollie Kelly; sisters, Martha Faye Wolfe, Tommilee Smith, Edith Kelly, and Mary Helen Taylor; and brother, Aubrey Kelly.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020, at Cornerstone Pentecostal Church (793 Cleveland in Idaho Falls) with Pastor Mike Glaser officiating. The services will be broadcast live at CPCIF.com.
