Salvador Nuñez, 81, of Idaho Falls, died April 20, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes.
He was born April 9, 1932, in Zacatecas, Mexico, to Francisco Nuñez and Victoriana Rodriguez. He was the firstborn of seven children.
On June 27, 1951, he married Celia Quiñonez in Zacatecas, Mexico. He lived in Mexico for 36 years, in Los Angeles for 37 years, and in Idaho Falls for the last 8 years.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. He also liked listening to live music, the outdoors and always being of service to others.
Survivors include ten children; Emma Carrillo, Reynaldo Nuñez, Eva Rivera, Vicky Virrey, Rosie Ramirez, Salvador Nuñez, Salvador Ramirez, Gilbert Nuñez, Aricelia Nava, and Abel Nuñez. Additional survivors include 38 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and four brothers, Fernando, Juan, Tomas and Jose.
Salvador was preceded in death by his wife, Celia; his daughter, Maria; son, Joaquin; grandson, Andres; brother, Antonio; sister, Lupe; and parents, Francisco and Victoriana.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 145 East 9th Street, with Father Raul R. Covarrubias officiating. The family will visit with friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., visiting will conclude at 8:00 p.m.
