Ryan Paulsen

Ryan George Paulsen, 33, of Idaho Falls passed away Monday, July 23, 2012, at Huntsman Cancer Hospital after a 15 month long fight with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Ryan was born December 6, 1978, in Idaho Falls, to Mark Paulsen and Susan Clark MacKay. Ryan served his country, spending almost four years in the Navy as a Seabee. Most recently, he enjoyed his job as a landscaper for Diamond T Landscaping and Construction. Ryan enjoyed watching hockey, listening to music, playing computer games that made him think, loved cooking and creating special meals for his family, and was a gifted and witty writer. Ryan also enjoyed spending time with his family. While Ryan was a man of few words, he had a big heart and loved his family very much. When he did open up, what he had to say was worth hearing. He was a single dad to 11-year-old Kaley. Ryan and Kaley had a special bond. Their “thing-to-do” was eating out and to critique the food, followed up with a movie. Ryan is survived by his daughter, Kaley Paulsen of Idaho Falls, his parents, Sue and Andy MacKay of Idaho Falls, and Mark and Brenda Paulsen of Rigby, four brothers; Matt Paulsen (Sasha) of Shelley, Jared Siple (Cathy) of Ft. Lewis, WA, Remington Paulsen (Mae) of Idaho Falls and Perry Paulsen (Sarah) of Rigby; two sisters, Devri Fife (Danny) and Nikki Sharp (Cameron), both of Idaho Falls. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Calvary Chapel, 4250 South 25th East, to celebrate his life. This will be an outdoor service, so dress casually and comfortably. In lieu of flowers, Ryan’s family respectfully requests donations be made to a trust fund for his daughter, Kaley.
