RUTH M. KOESTER IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Ruth M. Koester, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 28, 2010, at Monticello Care Center of Alzheimer’s. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice. Ruth was born November 28, 1925, in Peagram, Idaho, to Earl Adamson and Viola McClellan Adamson. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1944. She married Glen E. Koester on May 8, 1944, in Omaha, Nebraska. Glen preceded her in death on May 15, 2004. Ruth was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church where she served in various positions, including Deaconess. She enjoyed gardening; cooking; golfing; bowling; all sports, especially watching the Utah Jazz; and traveling. Survivors include: Son: Jerry (Karen) Koester, Arlington, WA Daughter: Claudia (Ken) Barnes, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: William Adamson Sister: Polly Meierotto 4 Grandchildren: Jamie L. (JC) Clark, Everett, WA; Kelley L. (Ryan) Ingram, Lake Stevens, WA; Lindsey (Josh) Pepper, Minneapolis, MN; Keri Barnes, Boise, ID; and 5 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister. Ruth’s family wishes to thank the staff at Monticello Care Center for the loving care they provided. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 Thursday, April 1, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, with Rev. Dr. Dennis Falasco officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations in Ruth’s name to the Alzheimer Research online at www.alz.org or to the Alzheimer's Association National Office 225 N. We are in Arizona and will miss the funeral. Ruth and Glenn were super neighbors and great friends. They always love to visit with our grand-children.
