AUGUSTA, GA -- Ruth Elizabeth David, 68, of Augusta, Georgia, died February 17, 2003, in Augusta.
She was born August 8, 1934, in Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of David S. Sieling and Elizabeth Dobiash Sieling. When she was still quite young her mother married Roy Lunetti, who raised her as a father. She grew up and attended schools in Tacoma.
On November 15, 1952, she married Martin Roderick David in Tacoma. They made their home in Hawthorne, California, for the first seven years of their marriage, then moved to Idaho. They lived in Roberts (Basset Siding) until 1969, when they moved to Idaho Falls. She later lived in Mississippi, California, Arkansas, Virginia, South Carolina, and finally moved to Georgia. She worked for a time at the Sacred Heart Hospital and at a local Laundromat.
She and her husband were active members of the Upper Snake River Valley CB Club, where she was known as “Dirty Sally.” Ruth was best known for her cooking, which she loved to share with family and friends (especially her grandchildren, Shawn, Jaime, Stephanie, Brandy, Brian, Jimmy, David, Dillon, and Derek), and the way she took care of people who were sick or in need.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2003, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends Monday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Ruth David Fund or the Arthritis Foundation. Donation slips will be available at Wood Funeral Home.
