Ruth Ballard

Ruth Marie Hendrickson Barton Ballard, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 26, 2015, at home of natural causes. Ruth was born July 31, 1922, in Hagerman, Idaho, to John Jefferson Hendrickson and Hattie Elizabeth Schultz Hendrickson. She grew up and attended schools in Felt, Idaho, and graduated from Teton High School. On July 17, 1941, she married Chester W. Barton in Blackfoot, Idaho. To this union were born three daughters, Juanita, Marilyn, and Diana. Chester passed away September 27, 1966. On September 11, 1968, she married Virgil Ballard. Ruth and Virgil made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Ruth worked as a homemaker. Virgil passed away September 19, 1990. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ruth is survived by daughter, Juanita (LeRoy) Weston of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Marilyn (Zane) Larson of St. Anthony, ID; daughter, Diana (Bryon) Egbert of Tetonia, ID; 10 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, John Jefferson Hendrickson, mother, Hattie Elizabeth Hendrickson, husband, Chester W. Barton, husband, Virgil Ballard, brother Paul Hendrickson, brother, Calvin Hendrickson, sister, Rada Villarreal, brother, Merlin J. Hendrickson. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015, at the Driggs Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls. Burial will be in the Driggs Cemetery.
