At the end of World War II she began to date a handsome sailor and after a year of dating she became the bride of John W. Hatton on May 5, 1947, in Mesa, Arizona. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. This year Ruby and John celebrated their 64 years of marriage. This union was blessed with a son and two daughters, and Ruby was on her way to becoming a wonderful homemaker and mother. When her children grew up she took a job at Citizens Utilities Company as an operator and was rapidly promoted to a supervisory position. When she retired she and John moved to Idaho Falls, where they enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, as well as making new friends and becoming members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ruby enjoyed crafts, reading, camping, and traveling.
