Ruby Fisher

Ruby Schofield Fisher, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 22, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born August 22, 1923, in Salmon, Idaho, to Walter Earl Schofield and Mary Louise Sampson Schofield. She grew up and attended schools in the area. Following graduation from high school she continued her education at Boise Junior College and graduated with an Associates Degree in the Teacher Training Program. On October 17, 1946, she married David William Fisher in Boise, Idaho. She was a mother and homemaker and also taught in the elementary schools. She lived in California, Pocatello, and Boise prior to moving to Idaho Falls in 1955. Ruby was a member of the Presbyterian Church and served in the Nursery, as a Sunday School Teacher, and as an Elder. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Club, Agape, and The Presbyterian Prayer Chain. Her hobbies included painting, reading, and singing. She loved teaching and working with children and was a special needs teacher for three years. Survivors are: Husband: David Fisher of Idaho Falls Daughter: Carol Ann Fisher of Idaho Falls Sister: Donna (Charles) Nemec of Helena, MT Granddaughter: Jill Fisher (Pete) Smout of Idaho Falls Great Grandchildren: Cody Butler and Taya Smout Great Great Grandchild: Shylo Fisher She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Louis Schofield and Virgil Schofield; and two sisters, Verne Santos and Betty Kohl. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2011, at the Idaho Falls First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, with Reverend Dr. Dennis Falasco officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the church.

Friday March 4, 2011 , 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church

The family will visit with friends on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
